In 2001, the Burnie City Council purchased ex TGR railcars DP13 and DP14 from Classic Rail Tours. The railcars were run on regular trips along the North-West coast from Burnie to Penguin and Ulverstone (mostly in the summer months), as well as for charter work. The former Emu Bay Railway station on Marine Terrace has been also been purchased and refurbished to serve as a base for the operation. The service has not operated for a number of years, and the railcars remain stored at the Burnie station Phone: (03) 6430 5700
