The railcars now at the Museum are former TGR diesel-powered vehicles which are capable of multiple unit operation. These cars were still in use when the TGR ceased operating suburban and country passenger trains in the 1970s.

The following vehicles are at the museum:

DP15 — Country and suburban passenger car. Built 1939 by Waddingtons, NSW. Out of use 1974, purchased by TTMS 1979. Currently being repainted
DP26 — Articulated country passenger car. Built 1950 by Commonwealth Engineering, NSW. Out of use 1978, purchased by TTMS 1979. Operational
PT4 — Driving trailer compatible with both DP15 and DP26. Built 1939 by Waddingtons, NSW. Out of use 1974, purchased by TTMS 1979. Stored

Currently DP26 runs twice a month at the societies Glenorchy museum, while DP15 is undergoing overhaul.

Since full restoration, DP26 has done a number of mainline tours, including trips in the greater Hobart area as well as charter work to Launceston and Burnie
