Special Events

This page lists changes to our regular operating schedule, or events in addition to our normal on-site opening/train running, such as the use of a steam locomotive or additional displays on the site.

Please note that at present we are unable to operate long distance/mainline excursions or our "Suburban Shuttle" trains.

Following a year long investigation carried out by TasRail and the three interested tourist railways into main line access for tourist and heritage rail passenger operations, it was announced in December 2011 that access to the freight railway network was not possible in the short to medium term. This means that tourist and heritage rail passenger services will be confined to private railway lines for the short term with the situation to be reviewed again in 2 to 3 years.
